California Exotic Novelties, known throughout the industry as CalExotics, is an American sex toy manufacturer founded in 1994 by Susan Colvin in California. The company began as a division of a distribution firm and grew over the decades into one of the most recognized names in pleasure products worldwide, built around accessible, mass-market design.
Susan Colvin built the brand on the idea that pleasure products should speak to women, not just the male-dominated audience the market catered to at the time. That female-first design perspective became CalExotics' signature and explains why its catalog spans thousands of models developed with attention to comfort and user experience.
History and Philosophy of CalExotics
From a division of a distribution company in the 1990s, CalExotics grew into an independent manufacturer with global reach, marking both its 20th and 25th anniversaries with recognition from leading industry publications. The brand's philosophy has stayed consistent throughout: pleasure should be accessible to a wide audience without sacrificing innovation.

How to Choose the Right CalExotics Product?
If you're new to Kegel training, choose a model with gradually adjustable intensity and start on the lowest setting. Anyone with a pacemaker or who is pregnant should avoid electrostimulation products and consult a doctor if in doubt. Always pair with a water-based lubricant for better comfort.
Care and Storage
Clean the product before and after use with a mild intimate cleanser or soap and warm water, avoiding submerging the electronic components. Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight, and check batteries regularly to prevent leakage.
